How to “rip” a video from YouTube.
1. Find the video you want from YouTube.
2. Copy the entire URL (Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI )
3. Open VLC Player
Start > Programs > VideoLAN > VLC Media Player
4. Open a Website stream
Media > go to Network TAB
5. Paste the URL in the Address field, and change the Protocol to HTTP
6. Press Play

Now you should be able to view a YouTube video in a VLC media player.
This is a good tip if you work from a laptop or suffer from a slow playback speed.
