Snapz Pro X

When creating a new “snap”, you will be able to create a snapshot of the entire screen, certain objects, a specific selection, or even create a movie.

To create a full screen screenshot

  1. Make sure that the current screen layout before launching Snapz Pro X is how you want the screenshot to look.
  2. Launch Snapz Pro X from the dock at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Screen button.
  4. Customize your options (if desired).
  5. Click on “preview” to take the screen shot.
  6. If satisfied with the previewed result, double click the screenshot to automatically save it (the default save location is the desktop).

NOTE: To take a quick screenshot, press Command(The Apple key) + shift + 3 to take a full screen screenshot of what you currently see that will automatically save to the desktop.

To take a screenshot of a selected part of the screen

  1. Make sure that the current screen layout before launching Snapz Pro X is how you want the screenshot to look.
  2. Launch Snapz Pro X from the dock at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Selection button.
  4. Drag the outlined selection tool over the area you want to take a screen shot of. You can resize the selection tool from the edges and the corners to cover more or less area.
  5. Once satisfied with the selected area, double click the selected area to take the screen shot (which is confirmed with a shutter sound effect).

To take a screencast (movie)

  1. Prepare your screen so that before you launch Snapz Pro X the screen is how you want your captured movie to start.
  2. Launch Snapz Pro X from the dock.
  3. Click on the Movie button.
  4. Drag the outlined selection tool over the area you want to take a screencast of. You can resize the selection tool from the edges and the corners to cover more or less area.
  5. Customize your options (including whether or not you want to record the mac’s sound during your movie, record from a microphone, etc)
  6. Double click within the selection tool to begin your screencast (Which will be confirmed with a voice shouting “Action!”).
  7. When you are done recording your screencast, press the Snapz Pro X icon in the dock (which will be confirmed with a voice shouting “Cut!”)
  8. A dialog box that will allow you to customize the save options of your movie will open. Customize your options and then press “save”.
