How to Sync Web E-mail with Microsoft Outlook 2007
Microsoft Outlook is your basic Email and calendar.  Features such as the instant search and to-do bar help organize and instantly locate information, email, or event when needed. In this tutorial I will demonstrate how to sync your Web Email with Outlook.
What you need:  A Gmail Account & a copy of Microsoft Outlook 2007
First you need to go to your Gmail account and enable IMAP (Internet message application protocol) which will basically give access to Outlook
When you log in to your Gmail, click on the icon on top right of the screen.
Choose mail settings from the drop down menu
Navigate to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Locate where it says, IMAP Access
Click Enable IMAP, if it’s not selected
Now, Open Outlook 2007 and navigate to the menu bar and click the Tools drop down menu
Find Account Settings towards the bottom and click
Under the E-mail tab you should find a button that says New… click it.
You will be giving two options now, select Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, then click  Next
Select the checkbox for manually configure server settings and then hit the next button again.
Now select Internet E-mail, then continue next
Add in all your personal information here and for the server information:
Select IMAP from the drop down menu
For the incoming mail server type imap.gmail.com
For the outgoing mail server (SMTP) type smtp.gmail.com

After you have entered all your personal information, click on More Settings
Navigate to the Outgoing Server tab and checkbox the My outgoing server requires authentication
Now choose the Advanced tab, and enter the following values (This part is very important)
Incoming Server: 993
Incoming Server encrypted connection: SSL
Outgoing Server: 58
Server encrypted connection: TLS
Hit Okay
Hit Next, then Finish
Now, give it a couple of minutes and if you followed the steps correctly you will be able to access your Gmail e-mails  from Microsoft Outlook 2007
