How to make a coloring book pages

1. Start> All Programs> Adobe Web Premium CS3 > Adobe Illustrator
2. Once the Adobe Illustrator software is open, a window will pop up with two options: Create New or Open Recent File. In this case, I’ll assume you have never used Adobe Illustrator before and want to create a new project. This screen shot shows the options you have to create a new project. I make the coloring sheet; use the “Print Document”.

3. Name the new file to fit your preferences. Alter the size as desired, then click Ok.
4. A blank sheet is the start off template and now you can begin to edit and create outlined images for this coloring book. Use any image you desire to create an outline.
5.The toolbar should be set to cursor. On the top toolbar, find Objects> Live Trace> Make and Expand.

Voila! You have just made your first coloring page. Adobe Illustrator is a great software and can edit and make very cool as well as intricate creations. This is just one of the things that Adobe Illustrator CS3 can do. I’ll add projects to the wiki later on so that everyone can use Adobe Illustrator with ease.

How to create a picture collage

The idea for this “What’s New” was a personal project of mine. I love to capture memories in film, video and pictures. I wanted to make a collage of some of the memories with my friends so I can decorate my room. I thought that Adobe Illustrator would be a great tool to do so. Adobe Illustrator allowed me to alter and distort pictures with fun graphics and transforming to creative, personal touch on my collage. The following are instructions on how to do so.
1. Follow Steps 1-4 from previous directions.
2. The toolbar on the left labeled “Ai” is a the editing toolbar. Locate and click the tab.
Options for stroke, character, paragraph, flash text, opacity, XYW Value ( this alters the position,size and spacing of the letter in your heading) width, height & etc. will pop up on the top of the screen. Alter to preferences. A shortcut to alter the font and font size is to rick-click on the heading. Change text color by using the color and stroke tools on top right of the screen. →
3. To add photos from the PC : File > Browse, select photos you want to add and right-click to copy images. Paste the image(s) to document.
*Note these picture must be saved to the computer’s hard drive or the Filters and Effects will not work on the collage.
4. Apply fun effects and filters to apply a theme to your collage, located on the top toolbar.
5.File >Save
